Water Street casinos should get a boost from GCB recommendations by Richard N. Velotta of Las Vegas Review-Journal

“The Pass, after being open for a week, is aiming to draw more customers to the property to place race and sports bets. Matt Metcalf, director of Circa Sports, told board members Wednesday that the sportsbook at The Pass would have three windows and two wagering kiosks with seven or eight employees and would be adjacent to a bar. Metcalf said the sportsbook at The Pass would be the fifth sportsbook and second satellite book operated by Circa, which runs books at Circa, the Golden Gate and the D in downtown Las Vegas and a satellite book at the Tuscany. In the time since Circa opened, its race and sportsbook operation has grown from five to 85 employees, Metcalf said. If approved by the commission, Circa, through its Golden Gate subsidiary, would get a nonrestricted gaming license for race and sports pools only and could conduct off-track pari-mutuel race wagering.

How to bet the 2021 Masters without Tiger Woods, and how lines are moving by Sam Panayotovich of FOX Sports

“‘We actually opened Spieth at 86-to-1 in early December,’ Circa Sports assistant sportsbook manager Jeff Davis told FOX Sports. ‘He was playing as bad as he’s played in his career. That number took all of about 24 hours to get a bet. I think we went to 70 from there. Then he really showed signs of life at the Phoenix Open. We dropped him to 50. Then somebody bet the 50, so we went down to 30. I think he finished top-5 at Pebble [Beach] the week after, and that’s when we went all the way in to [20-to-1]. Once he got to 20, the public really got interested in Spieth. It was eight weeks out at that point, and people were starting to come to town for the Super Bowl, then March Madness. The Spieth bets piled up pretty quickly.’

Pinnacle Enhances in-Play Betting Product with DeckPrism by Eva Ivanova of Gambling News

The company will prove that it can tackle the challenges of in-play betting, as it requires more experience and technological efforts as opposed to pre-game betting. Under the deal, Pinnacle will gain access to DeckPrism Sports technology and modeling capability. The features will integrate with Pinnacle’s risk management platform and give customers a unique in-play betting experience. DeckPrism recently signed a deal with Circa Sports Colorado. Under the agreement, DeckPrism will exclusively supply Circa’s app in the state with its in-play odds solution.

NFL and Sportsbooks to Boost Revenues Through Draft, Schedule Expansion by Jay Dieffenbach of Betting NEws

“‘While you’ve heard grumblings from players about the extra week, we are thrilled,’ Circa Sports operations director Jeff Benson told Covers. ‘An additional week of regular-season NFL is great for all sportsbooks, and even better that it comes at the expense of one less preseason (week), which typically sees a majority of sharp money.’ Nevada handle figures show an expectation of more than $50 million in additional NFL wagers at the state’s sportsbooks.
