‘Explosive’ Virtual Event Set for Las Vegas This New Year’s Eve by Larry Henry of Casino.org

Several weeks ago, Jossel and downtown casino owner Derek Stevens watched from a rooftop at Circa Resort as fireworks were launched from a Plaza hotel tower. On Sept. 26, Stevens tweeted a video of the brief fireworks display. Circa Resort is at Fremont and Main streets, across from the Plaza. Stevens owns Circa and two other properties on Fremont Street, D Las Vegas, and the Golden Gate.

The 1.25-million-square-foot Circa Resort & Casino, which opened its doors in November, is the first Las Vegas resort-casino built from the ground up in four decades. This ambitious downtown Vegas project is an adults-only property that’s imbued with high-tech but pays homage to the vintage Golden Era of Sin City. Conceived by developer/CEO Derek Stevens, Circa Resort & Casino is going all in with a slew of original restaurants and bars, a two-story, 8,000-square-foot casino and a Garage Mahal parking structure built with ridesharing as a focus.

“The Vegas Loop would be approximately 10.5 miles long within Clark County’s jurisdiction. It then would extend into the city of Las Vegas’ jurisdiction north of Sahara Avenue to Ogden and Main streets back to Las Vegas Boulevard, near the Strat. The total system is planned to be around 15 miles in length. Tentative plans call for linking Circa resort, Fremont Street Experience, the Plaza hotel-casino with city officials hoping to add stops at City Hall and the Arts District on Main Street downtown.

A Las Vegas icon is back. No, it’s not Cher or Celine Dion running out a new production show. This famous female is the old-school type, so she’s kicking it in Downtown Las Vegas at the recently opened Circa Resort & Casino. We’re talking about Vegas Vickie, one of the most recognizable neon signs in Las Vegas. Designed by electric artist Charles Barnard and first installed in 1980 above the Glitter Gulch façade on Fremont Street, the sign depicts a cowgirl in a form-fitting fringed outfit kicking a leg skyward.

Las Vegas Plans to ‘Kiss Off 2020’ With a Bang by Sheena Robertson of Guardian Liberty Voice

Their display of pizazz will include fireworks, confetti, and streamers. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, they have forgone their normal celebration held on the Las Vegas Strip. The event will start at 9 p.m. PT and will be held at Las Vegas Valley’s newest casino — Circa— 13 West Coast TV Markets will be broadcasting the show. “The oldest hotel in Las Vegas, the Golden Gate, is on the southwest corner of Fremont Street. It opened in the early 1900s. Across Fremont Street is the newest resort to open in Las Vegas, Circa Resort. Both are owned by Derek Stevens, who also owns D Las Vegas on Fremont Street.
