Tuley’s Takes Today: Tuesday recap, Wednesday best bet (9-22) by Dave Tuley of VSiN.com
“Circa Sports’ Jeffrey Benson and a few followers on Twitter @ViewFromVegas pointed out that my NFL Week 2 recaps didn’t include the race for the last-place Booby Prize in Circa Sports Million III. I replied: FRANKIE BLACK (0-10 through 2 weeks of Circa Sports Million) leads the race for the $25,000 first-quarter Booby Prize for lowest points (a contestant must play every week to be eligible; you can’t just have the least amount of wins by not putting in plays). The first quarter runs in NFL Weeks 1-4. The season-long Booby Prize is $100,000.
…Circa Sports Million’s first quarter ends after NFL Week 4 and pay $171,750 for first (the strange amount comes from the fact there were 4,087 entries on the $4 million guarantee with the extra $87,000 being split between the four quarterly winners), $50,000 for second, $25,000 for third and the $25,000 for the Booby Prize.“
Week 4 college football best bets: Notre Dame, Wisconsin slug it out by Doug Kezirian of ESPN
“‘Wiscy is off a bye against a Notre Dame team that hasn’t looked great so far but tends to be more suited to cover games in the underdog role,’ Circa Sports sportsbook director Matt Metcalf told ESPN, sharing that this game has drawn a solid amount of sharp wagers on both sides. ‘We will most likely need the Badgers to win by seven or more, once it’s all said and done.’“

“Circa Million III
Format: Contestants pick five NFL games against the spread each week ($1,000 per entry).
Field: 4,087 entries.
Leaders: 12 entries tied at 10-0.
Barnes’ status: 2-3 last week, 5-5 overall, tied for 1,828th. Winners on Panthers +3½ and Patriots -5½, and losers on Steelers -6, Eagles +3 and Chargers -3½.
Circa Survivor
Format: Contestants pick one straight-up NFL winner each week (each team can be used only once) and are eliminated with a loss ($1,000 per entry).
Field: 4,080 entries, but Circa added $1.92 million to the prize pool to reach the $6 million guarantee.
Leaders: 2,985 survivors advance. Week 2 eliminated 411 entries — 252 with the Steelers, 126 with the Seahawks, 10 with the Chargers, three with the Chiefs, three with the Texans and one each with the Eagles and Saints, plus 15 entries who forgot to make a selection.
Barnes’ status: Alive, after the Patriots beat the Jets 25-6.”
Circa Million Week 3 Picks by Adam Chernoff of Covers
“Covers is throwing an entry into the Circa Million Pro Football contest for the 2021 season and Adam Chernoff has been tabbed to make the weekly picks so let’s dig right in. Here are his five ATS picks for Week 3 of the Circa Million betting contest.
Week 2 record: 2-3
Season to date: 7-3
Place: T-345 / 4,086“
Circa Million Week 3 Lines, Picks & Consensus by Adam Burke of VSiN.com
“Twelve entries in the Circa Sports Million III went into Week 3 tied for first at 10-0. There were 70 entries tied for 13th at 9-1. There has not yet been a push with the contest lines. Every week is a big one in a contest like this, as there are only 18 weeks worth of picks and only 90 total selections. The first quarter is one of two that lasts only four weeks, so this is an important week for entrants to position themselves for a shot at the first set of prizes.“
Las Vegas Advisor: Football parties are back in Las Vegas casinos and bars by Anthony Curtis of Honolulu Star-Advertiser
“More evidence of Las Vegas’ return to normalcy is evident in the resumption of football parties in casinos and bars. While the parties aren’t as robust as they were pre-pandemic, there are still some good gatherings throughout the city. On weekends, the casino sports books are packed, drawing in people with all the games showing on the big screens. Busiest are Las Vegas’ two premier sports books at Circa and Westgate.“
Raiders bail out Vegas books by not covering in win over Miami by Todd Dewey of Las Vegas Review-Journal
“The books also won big on the Chargers’ 30-24 win over the Chiefs as 7-point underdogs and the Lions’ cover as 7½-point underdogs to the Ravens in a heartbreaking 19-17 home loss. All it took was Justin Tucker’s game-winning, NFL-record, 66-yard field goal that bounced over the crossbar after Baltimore converted a fourth-and-19. That saved 340 $1,000 entries from elimination in the Circa Survivor contest, which pays $6 million to the winner.“
Last Woman Standing goes for 2nd straight NFL winner by Jim Barnes of Las Vegas Review-Journal
“Amber Hanover, who won Station Casinos’ NFL Last Man Standing contest last season, had an easy winner with Panthers +3½ in her first week giving out an NFL play to the Review-Journal. Carolina defeated the New Orleans Saints 26-7. Hanover remains in the race to successfully defend her Last Man Standing title, with three entries remaining after two weeks. She also has two entries left in the college LMS contest, and she is 8-2 (tied for 83rd) after two weeks in the Circa Sports Million.“
The Night Cap – September 24, 2021, Hour 1 by VSiN
“In hour one of The Night Cap hosts Tim Murray and Shaun King are joined by Derek Stevens, Circa Sports Founder, and Darren Banks, Former NHL Player, as they discuss the Circa Survivor and Circa Millions Contests. They also look ahead to the college football and NFL slate.“
Tuley’s Takes Today: Saturday recap, Sunday NFL (and MLB) picks (9-26) by Dave Tuley of VSiN.com
“Circa Sports Million III Top 5 Most-Selected Teams for NFL Week 3 are the Raiders -4 vs. Dolphins, Rams + 1.5 vs. Buccaneers, Packers + 3.5 at 49ers, Dolphins + 4 at Raiders and Cardinals -7.5 at Jaguars. Since the Raiders and Dolphins are facing each other, the No. 6 team is the Washington Football Team %plusssign% at the Bills.
In Circa Survivor, 1,468 of the entrants still alive took the Broncos in Week 3. There are already 736 players that are through to Week 4 because they took the Panthers on Thursday Night Football. There’s another dropoff to 340 on the Ravens and 126 on the Browns.“
The PreGame Show – September 26, 2021 by VSiN
“On today’s NFL Week 3 edition of The Pre-Game Show, host Femi Abebefe is joined by Mike Palm and Derek Stevens from Circa Sports, Johnny Avello from DraftKings, and Chris Andrews from South Point for a last-minute look at what the betting public is doing ahead of kickoff. Also joining the show is VSiN host Will Hill to discuss his best bets of the day.“
Tuley’s Takes Today: NFL and contest recaps, Monday pick (9-27) by Dave Tuley of VSiN.com
“Circa Sports Million Top 5 Most-Selected Teams went 4-1 in NFL Week 3 with the only loss on the No. 1 choice, the Raiders -4. The Rams, Packers, Dolphins and Cardinals covered for contest players. The Circa Top 5 improved to 9-6 overall through three weeks. DeadMoneyMedia(dot)com (aka Jesse Flynn) is the last remaining undefeated contestant at 15-0, but he hasn’t won anything yet. CSM’s first Quarter ends after Week 4, so DeadMoneyMedia has the inside track on the $171,750 1st-place prize, but at least nine other entrants will be within 1 point of the lead going into next weekend.
In Circa Survivor, 2,917 are still alive (according to the Circa Sports app) with 1 entrant needing the Cowboys on Monday Night Football. The only Sunday eliminations were those on the Giants (28), Chiefs (19), Steelers (12), 49ers (2), Patriots (1), Dolphins (1) and Jets (1).“
Notable bets: Tucker’s kick saves one of the most popular weekend bets by David Purdum of ESPN
“Alabama opened as a 20-point favorite over Ole Miss at 2 p.m. PT Sunday at Las Vegas sportsbook Circa Sports. There were more than 10 limit bets placed on the Rebels in the first hours since the game was on the board, and no limit bets on Alabama. By 6 p.m. PT, the number had dropped to Crimson Tide -14.5.“
Part I: Sporttrade CEO On How Betting Exchanges Fill A Market Void by Christopher Gerlacher of Gaming Today
“The type of traditional sports betting that appeals to Kane the most is the Vegas-style of sports betting. In Nevada, bookmakers can and do place bets. At Circa Sports in Nevada, bettors and bookmakers can compete directly. However, the sportsbook app also has features that Kane appreciates. First, Circa Sports goes through a process called price discovery.
‘They’re [Circa Sports] not going to look at where the rest of the world is in terms of what the odds are,’ said Kane. ‘They’re going to open their lines before DraftKings, before FanDuel, before all of them, and sharp bettors are going to come in and help them shape the line.’
Bettor control is central to his vision of Sporttrade, so it’s no wonder that this aspect of Circa Sports inspires praise. Bettors on Sporttrade also shape the share prices, making this an important commonality between this traditional sportsbook and Kane’s betting exchange.“
Tuley’s Takes Today: NFL Week 3 recap; Contest updates; Tuesday pick (9-28) by Dave Tuley of VSiN.com
“In Circa Sports Million III, DeadMoneyMedia.com (aka Jesse Flynn) is the last remaining undefeated contestant at 15-0. Their first payouts comes after the first Quarter that wraps up after Week 4. DeadMoneyMedia has the inside track on the $171,750 first-place prize, but there are 10 entrants tied for 2nd at 14-1, so the top money spots are up for grabs. Second place is worth $50,000 with $25,000 for third. There is also a Last-Place Booby Prize of $25,000. FRANKIE BLACK and Dos Hermanos are tied for the lead in that race at 1-14 with eight more at 2-13.
Circa Survivor has 2,917 entrants still alive after NFL Week 3 after the final one advanced with the Cowboys on Monday Night Football. The Top 7 choices all won (though the big escape of the week was for the 340 that were on the Ravens in their miracle win), with the most eliminations by those who used the Giants (28).“
