Coronavirus Forces Sportsbooks To Choose Over Mobile Betting by Derek Blake of WSN
“One of the newest sportsbooks in Las Vegas, Circa Sports, kept their mobile app available for bettors after they shut down their two casino properties, the D Las Vegas and Golden Gate, to comply with the directive by Gov. Sisolak.“
PlayUSA Rewind: US Casinos Go Dark As Sporting Events Cancel by Grant Lucas of PlayUSA
“As noted, Nevada’s decision added to the already lengthy list of states that issued similar directives. Now, according to the American Gaming Association, all of the country’s 465 commercial casinos will be closed this week. To boot, some 97% of the nation’s 524 tribal properties will have done the same. All told, around 650,000 casino gaming employees will be affected, and $43.5 billion in economic activity will be taken away if casinos remain closed for two months.
Fortunately for Nevadans, online gambling will remain open. Several sportsbooks have opted to shut down mobile platforms, but the likes of Circa Sports, William Hill and WSOP.com remain operational.“
How the Sports Betting Industry is Coping with the Lack of Sporting Events by Rohan Mathawan of TechStory
“Because of what’s happening in the sports industry, sportsbooks are dealing with the lack of fixtures and odds to offer to their punters. There are still sports events that aren’t canceled in some parts of the world and it is likely that you’ll be seeing odds for those offered online…
Bookies like William Hill, Circa Sports, and Caesars Palace all have decided to keep their online platforms and mobile apps running as well. What these bookies ensure is that they still have offs to offer despite the temporary loss of major sports leagues.“

Nevada sportsbook apps offer betting on events in Belarus, Ukraine by Jim Barnes of Las Vegas Review-Journal
“Belarusian Premier League soccer: The top league in this former Soviet republic just opened its season and has a full slate of matches this weekend – two Friday, four Saturday and two Sunday. The matches are played in the morning Pacific time, in some cases overnight. Lines were available Thursday at Circa Sports, MGM Resorts International and William Hill.“
Ohio State given second-best 2020 national championship odds by Patrick Murphy of 247Sports
“But the hope, and the goal of these precautions and social distancing, is that there will be sports again in the near future and — although some believe it isn’t a good idea — there will be a 2020 college football season. Because of that expectation, Circa Sports at Golden Gate Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas released updated 2020 college football national championship odds and the Scarlet and Gray are near the top once again.“
