Big bet on NASCAR driver Josh Bilicki could pay off Nevada customer’s Dollar Loan Center loans by KTNV Las Vegas
“Because a Bilicki win on Sunday would cost Brennan millions of dollars, he turned to long-time friend, casino owner, and sports betting legend Derek Stevens of Circa in Las Vegas to ‘hedge his bet.’ ‘There’s only one joint in Vegas that I know would take that kind of action and it is Derek at Circa,’ said Brennan. ‘At Circa Sports we’ve always said our primary goal is to help customers get their bets down, no matter the size of the wager’ said Stevens. ‘Chuck has always loved a good promotion, and we’re happy to take part by accepting his bet on Josh Bilicki to win the Pennzoil 400 to the tune of $10 million.’“
Las Vegas Bets Big On Sports, Welcomes Traveling Fans by Larry Olmsted of Forbes
“That’s all just one part of the sportive equation. The other is a big new focus on sports betting, better sports books, and more and better casino-based sports viewing venues. The biggest boost came with the opening of the all new Circa Resort & Casino just over four months ago. Developer and CEO Derek Stevens has been a driving force in the Downtown renaissance with his other casino hotel properties, The D and Golden Gate.“
Sports Betting Content is Exploding Alongside Regulation Progress by Jay Dieffenbach of Betting News
“VSIN, a sports betting network that produces audio and video content from its studios inside five U.S. sportsbooks, struck a deal last year to produce content at ‘the world’s largest sportsbook’ at Circa in Las Vegas, on the Fremont Street Experience.“
Derek Stevens’ big plans have paid off in Las Vegas by Brock Radke of Las Vegas Magazine
“Circa is the culmination of what Stevens—a Michigan native, huge sports fan and aficionado of the classic Vegas experience—has learned from his experiences acquiring and operating the Golden Gate Hotel & Casino; purchasing another downtown property, Fitzgeralds, and renovating it into The D Casino & Hotel on the opposite end of the Fremont Street Experience; and developing the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center and his own Circa | Sports betting operation.“
Circa on hook for $10M if Josh Bilicki wins Las Vegas race by Todd Dewey of Las Vegas Review-Journal
“If the year of the long shot in NASCAR continues Sunday, all Dollar Loan Center customers in Nevada could be off the hook and Circa sportsbook could be on the hook for $10 million. Dollar Loan Center founder and CEO Chuck Brennan placed a $10,000 bet to win $10 million at Circa on Josh Bilicki at 1,000-1 odds to win the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.“
NASCAR Longshot Could Cost Sportsbook $10 Million on Single Bet by Darren Rovell of Action Network
“Brennan’s company is one of the largest short-term lending companies in the southwest. When he approached Circa Sports owner Derek Stevens, Stevens wanted to take the bet but not at Brennan’s full ask. ‘I wanted to make sure he had skin in the game, too,’ Stevens told The Action Network. Stevens accepted the $10,000 wager after agreeing to 1000-1 odds with his oddsmaking team. While a win by Bilicki would take much of the liability away, it’s believed Brennan’s total liability is more than $20 million in the promotion.“
