Circa Las Vegas in the News

VSiN studio perfect compliment by Rob Miech of Gaming Today

As Brian Musburger enters Derek Stevens’s new Circa Resort & Casino from Fremont Street, within a few steps he touches the new VSiN broadcast center, above the ground-level theater seats, and views the magnificent LED video display. Seventy-eight million pixels are squeezed onto that basketball court-sized screen, and it juts in as it rises to enhance the viewing experience for all three sportsbook levels.

Circa Resort & Casino Now Operational by John Stweart of InkedIn

Circa Resort & Casino, the first resort casino constructed from the ground up in four decades in downtown Las Vegas, is now operational. Via retro architecture, old-school hospitality and references to the heritage of the city while adding high-tech innovations and cutting-edge amenities, the 1.25 million square foot, adult-only property pays homage to Vegas’ Golden Era. Crafted by developer and CEO Derek Stevens, Circa is one of the most ambitious projects in the 115-year history of downtown Vegas and the first resort casino in the city to be constructed from the ground up in four decades.

Two New Adult-Only Casino Resorts Just Opened In Las Vegas by Larry Olmsted of Forbes

“The all new Circa Resort & Casino comes from developer and CEO Derek Stevens, who has been a driving force in the ongoing renaissance of Downtown Las Vegas, where he already has The D and Golden Gate casino hotels. The 777-room Circa is more ambitious, a from the ground up build rather than a remodel. The property welcomes adults-only and pays homage to Vegas’ Golden Era through vintage design. The Casino opened yesterday to much fanfare, but the guest rooms in the 44-story tower, the tallest in Downtown, don’t open until December 28, 2020 (they are taking reservations).

This Brand New Las Vegas Resort Is The First To Be Built From The Ground Up In Over Four Decades by Kaitlyn McInnis of Forbes

Paying homage to Vegas’ Golden-Era through vintage design, old-school hospitality, and various nods to the city’s history, the downtown resort will also introduce high-tech advancements, cutting-edge amenities, and other modern offerings to make visitors as comfortable as possible, including an impressive variety on onsite bars, luxury lounges, and restaurants. ‘For the past five years, the Circa team and our partners have been devoted to introducing a resort and casino experience that brings something totally new to Vegas, and in some cases, the country,’ said Circa Developer and CEO Derek Stevens.

Meet the showman behind Las Vegas’ big new bet: Circa by Eli Segall of Las Vegas Review-Journal

“‘I was just a young guy then, but I looked around at all the sightlines and this beautiful night on the Strip, and I thought, ‘One day I’m going to put on events in Las Vegas,’ he once said. Stevens has done much more than that, becoming a high-profile casino owner in downtown Las Vegas. And now, the Michigan man-turned-Vegas showman has unveiled his biggest project yet.

His new resort, Circa, opened its casino, restaurants and year-round pool complex Wednesday. The hotel tower, with its very Vegas total of 777 rooms, is slated to debut at year’s end. The 35-story project is downtown’s first newly built resort in four decades, a Strip-style destination in a tightly packed tourist corridor known for budget travelers and older hotels with limited amenities. The glitzy destination also reflects much about the developer behind it – an old-school-style operator with a visible presence and a big personality.

First adults-only resort/casino in Vegas is now open with the world’s largest sports book by Richard Kerr of The Points Guy UK

Last week marked the grand opening of Circa Resort and Casino — the first opening of a resort built from the ground up in downtown Las Vegas since 1980. The property features a sports-lovers paradise called Stadium Swim; the world’s largest sportsbook, Circa Sports, which was built for 1,000 people; and, perhaps most notably, the resort — including all dining, entertainment and hotel areas — also requires all visitors and guests to be at least 21 years old. The 21+ rule may sound like the norm in gambling- and drinking-focused Sin City, but it’s actually a novelty.

Located in historic Downtown Las Vegas, the 1.25 million-square-foot Circa will pay homage to the city’s Golden Era through vintage design, nods to Vegas history and old-school service, while capitalizing on future Las Vegas trends and high-tech advancements to deliver an epic, one-of-a-kind experience.
